The Kitchen elevates Deeny Kaplan to Chief Sales and Marketing Officer

She has held the title of Executive Vice President for more than 24 years and is now taking on this newly created position amid the company’s next phase of growth and development.

Deeny Kaplan, founding partner and Executive Vice President at The Kitchen, has been named Chief Sales and Marketing Officer for the international language services studio.

“This is a newly created position, much warranted for the exceptional performance and dedication that Deeny has given to The Kitchen since its birth in 2001,” Josh Pine, COO explained“From putting forth The Kitchen’s name to receiving and winning two Prime Time Emmy Awards for its end-to-end language software during the studio’s infancy, to her excellent achievement in developing The Kitchen name, reputation and image, as a true player in the localization industry over the years, there is no one that I know who is more dedicated to, or has a better understanding of this business than Deeny.”

Deeny has been first in many areas of the business, from being awarded the first female broadcasting internship from Westinghouse Broadcasting while she was still in high school; being one of the very firsts to introduce the steadfast film industry to the possibilities that video could offer in the late 1970’s;  was the founding editor of the very first consumer video publication, VIDEO; as well as being a mentor for dozens of young men and women who have had the same lifelong passion she has for this ever-changing industry.

“I’m in love. It’s as simple as that. The passion that I have for this business is a lifelong desire to be part of a driving force in the industry that I’ve loved since I was 8 years old.  I’m so proud of what we’ve created here at The Kitchen and look forward to what’s next.  With Josh Pine’s (our COO) knowledge of what AI could bring to The Kitchen and to our clients, coupled with his experience within the major studios in LA, to Ken Lorber’s (our President/CEO) outstanding leadership in building industry leaders, in New York and Miami, our combined history is a living tribute to a business we all love, live and breathe," Kaplan said.

Behind the scenes, The Kitchen currently is in the midst of developing its next phase of growth and development. “We are all thrilled to have the opportunity to grow as the industry grows. The Kitchen never remains stagnant.  We like to be first. We like to think outside of the box. The future is very exciting!”, she concluded.
