TV Asahi launches two Shin chan animated movies in the Indian theatres

"Shin chan Our Dinosaur Diary" is set for release in May 2025 while "Shin chan The Spicy Kasukabe Dancers in India" scheduled for release during Diwali season, October 2025.

TV Asahi announces the theatrical release of two highly anticipated Shin chan movies in India – "Shin chan Our Dinosaur Diary" and "Shin chan The Spicy Kasukabe Dancers in India". This marks the very first time Shin chan movies will be released in theatres in India, setting a significant milestone for the iconic Shin chan franchise.

Known for its global fanbase and continuing success, the films will be distributed by PVR INOX Pictures Limited. "Shin chan Our Dinosaur Diary" will hit cinemas in May 2025, while "Shin chan The Spicy Kasukabe Dancers in India" will be released during the Diwali season in October 2025. Both films will be released in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Japanese with English subtitles.



Shinnosuke Nohara better known as Shin chan, the fun-loving, mischievous 5-year-old kindergartener who’s always getting into trouble has become a household name around the world. He’s charming and cheeky and together with his baby sister, Himawari, who loves cute boys and shiny gems, Shin chan never fails to keep things lively. The Shin chan TV series which first premiered in India in 2006, has continued to capture the hearts of viewers, airing daily on Hungama TV and since May 2024 on Sony Pictures Networks India’s (SPNI) kids channel SONY YAY! The show has become the number one show in popularity among international IPs currently broadcast in India, with the highest viewership share.

Globally, the Shin chan TV series has been one of the most top-rated animations for over 30 years, with more than 820 episodes, broadcast in over 45 countries including, Spain, Germany, Portugal, Mexico, and Chile. To date 32 Shin chan films have been released taking over US$ 350 million at the Japanese box office.

The Shin chan franchise has become one of the most beloved and recognizable brands and TV Asahi continues to strengthen its 360-degree approach by focusing on its presence in TV, films and offering promotional rights, tie-ups, licensing & merchandising.
