ZDF Studios to distribute the second season of "Stories to Stay Awake"

The distributor has committed to distributing the Spanish series in all territories outside Spain, Portugal, Italy, and Latin America, which will be handled by Paramount Global Content Distribution.

ZDF Studios has confirmed plans to distribute the second season of "Stories to Stay Awake."“Great storytelling will always stand the test of time and by producing a contemporary version of Serrador’s work it gives a whole new generation the opportunity to discover these superb thrillers," Susanne Frank, Director Drama for ZDF Studios, said. 

A reboot of the classic Spanish series "Historias Para No Dormir," "Stories to Stay Awake" was initially created by Chicho Ibáñez Serrador in the 1960s. ZDF Studios has agreed to distribute the series in all territories outside Spain, Portugal, Italy, and Latin America, which will be handled by Paramount Global Content Distribution.

The second season is also produced by Paramount in association with ZDF Studios, along with Prointel and Isla Audiovisual. The first season of the series was a huge success premiering on Prime Video and RTVE in Spain. "50 years after its premiere, Stories to Stay Awake returns with its second season to offer audiences the best of the thriller genre combined with the great potential and talent of modern cinema," a recent press release states.

Directors Salvador Calvo, Nacho Vigalondo, Alice Waddington and Jaume Balagueró were appointed to lead the remake of 4 new stand-alone episodes for this second season. The cast of the miniseries includes, among others, award-winning actors Javier Gutiérrez, Petra Martínez, Roberto Álamo, Aníbal Gómez, Álvaro Morte, Pablo Derqui and Manuela Vellés.
