Asia Pacific pay TV revenues will reach US$26 billion by 2028, US$1.6 billion less than 2022, Digital TV Research revealed in its latest report. According to the report, pay TV revenues are expected to fall in ten countries, including Japan (down by US$889 million) and China (down by US$309 million), between 2022 and 2028. Conversely, India will add US$153 million.
“IPTV revenues will overtake digital cable in 2023. IPTV revenues will climb by US$481 million between 2022 to 2028 to US$11.26 billion,” commented Simon Murray, Principal Analyst at Digital TV Research.
Meanwhile, according to Digital TV Research’s “Asia Pacific Pay TV Forecasts” report, digital cable will lose US$1.15 billion between 2022 and 2028, with analog cable down by US$382 million. At the same time, satellite TV will also fall by US$494 million during the period.
