Odetta Watkins has joined Amazon Studios as Head of Drama Series following a 20-year tenure with Wanrer Bros Television.“Odetta is a powerhouse at what she does – with a proven track record of recognizing and shepherding global hits, we are incredibly proud to have her join Amazon Studios. Her leadership and creative sensibilities are invaluable as we look to continue to break boundaries and tell nuanced and entertaining stories," Laura Lancaster, Head of series for Amazon Studios, said.

The move comes after Amazon Studios restructured and streamlined its programming operations earlier this year with Marc Resteghini becoming US/Global Head of Development and Lancaster joining to lead a department that oversees its returning shows. In her newly created role she will shepherd ongoing current series for the streamer including Amazon Originals Tom Clancy’s "Jack Ryan," "The Wilds and Hunters." She will report to Lancaster, while Kara Smith remains Head of drama development, reporting to Marc Resteghini

Earlier this year, Amazon reorganized its TV development around three areas: development, series and IP/talent management. Marc Resteghini and Lancaster serve as the heads of development and series, respectivel, while Nick Pepper oversees IP and talent management.
