Movistar Plus+'s original miniseries, "The Left-Handed Son," received positive feedback this year at Cannesseries. The title is set to premier on Thursday 27 April on the platform.
Created and directed by Rafael Cobos, the original production in colaboration with Atípica Films. The international distribution of ‘The Left-Handed Son’ is being handled by Movistar Plus+ International. 'The Left-handed Son', Movistar Plus+ original series, created and directed by Rafael Cobos, has won the Best Series Award of the Short Form competition at Canneseries (Cannes International Series Festival).
Cobos, director, creator and scriptwriter, and protagonist María León attended the Closing Ceremony at the Grand Théâtre Lumière in Cannes. "The Left-handed Son" comes after `Perfect Life' which won Best Series and Audience Award in the 2019 edition.
"The Left-Handed Son," Lola is a high-class Sevillian mother who attends the drift of her youngest son towards the obscurities of a radical group. In an attempt to understand and recover her son, Lola will relate to Maru, a mother of a different social class who lives in a similar situation to hers. María León, winner of the Concha de Oro at the San Sebastián Film Festival, as Lola heads a cast with Tamara Casellas as Maru, Alberto Ruano as Rodrigo, Marisol Membrillo as Pilar and the young ones Hugo Welzel, Numa Paredes and Germán Rueda.
