The Walt Disney Company EMEA recently unveiled a slate of UK unscripted original titles for Disney+. The launch was confirmed at the Edinburgh TV Festival which runs until 25 August. “We’ve spent the past year making ambitious documentaries with exclusive access to A-list names with the best creative talent in the business," Sean Doyle, director, unscripted, Disney+, EMEA, said. "It’s been great to see the reactions to Finding Michael and Save Our Squad with David Beckham and I can’t wait for audiences to see what else we’ve been up to and discover stories they may not expect to see on Disney+.”
The titles included in the catalog are "World War Show: Adidas vs. Puma," "Brawn: The Impossible Formula 1 Story," starring Hollywood actor Keanu Reeves, the three-parter "Coleen Rooney: The Real Wagatha Story," music doc-film Camden and the fashion documentary "In Vogue." The titles include shows from Raw, Lightbox, North One, Dorothy Street and a series directed by Asif Kapadia. Disney+ ad-supported tier is also expected to launch in the UK by November, with its new Standard with Ads package. The platform's AVOD will also roll out to France, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, Norway, Sweden and Denmark.
"Coleen Rooney: The Real Wagatha Story" is made by Dorothy Street Pictures and Lorton Entertainment. The Executive Producers on the project are Julia Nottingham, Emma Tutty, Sam Starbuck, Julian Bird, Ed Barratt and Paul Stretford. The series is directed and produced by Lucy Bowden. “World War Show: Adidas vs. Puma” is produced by Matador Content, a Boat Rocker company, and Studio 99, with David Beckham as Executive Producer.
