Warner Media announced HBO Max's latest executive series order, resulting in a new addition to the HBO series, Sex and the City, titled “And Just Like That…," by executive producer Michael Patrick King and starring Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, and Kristin Davis.
“And Just Like That…” is executive produced by Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristin Davis, Cynthia Nixon, and Michael Patrick King. Parker, Davis, and Nixon all shared the long-rumored news on Instagram Sunday with a short teaser. The series is set to begin production in New York City in late spring.
The new, 10-episode chapter from Michael Patrick King will feature Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristin Davis, and Cynthia Nixon all of which will stick to their original roles. The new Max Original series is based on the book, “Sex and the City,” by Candice Bushnell and the original TV series created by Darren Star. “I grew up with these characters, and I can’t wait to see how their story has evolved in this new chapter, with the honesty, poignancy, humor, and the beloved city that has always defined them,” said Sarah Aubrey, Head of Original Content, HBO Max.
The series will follow Carrie, Miranda, and Charlotte as they navigate through the reality of life and friendship in their 30s through even further complications in their 50s. HBO Max is the streaming home for all six original seasons of Sex and the City. The WarnerMedia-backed streaming service is also revisiting several library titles with new takes on The CW's “Gossip Girl” and Freeform's “Pretty Little Liars” set to debut this year.
