NETFLIX ANNOUNCES NEW DANISH ORIGINAL “ELVES" AND GREENLIGHTS "GODZILLA" ANIME SERIES

Production has begun for the Miso Film series in Copenhagen, Denmark. The series was executed by the same creators and executive producers for "The Rain." "Godzilla Singular Point" is set for release in 2021.

Netflix announced the prompt release of “Elves,” a new Danish Netflix original series creators and the executive producers behind “The Rain.” The streaming giant also announced all new original anime series "Godzilla Singular Point," set for release in 2021. "With our new Netflix show Elves we continue the strong partnership we have been building with Netflix through three seasons of ‘The Rain,’ " Peter Bose, CEO & Producer at Miso Film said. We praise that Netflix opens the doors to new genres which we couldn't afford to develop and produce in the past in our local market.”

According to Bose, “Elves” begun production in Copenhagen. The Danish language series' cast features stars including Ann Eleonora Jørgensen from "Ride Upon the Storm,"  Rasmus Hammerich from "A Horrible Woman," Peder Thomas Pedersen from "The Lawyer," Lila Nobel from "The Rain" and Lukas Løkken from "The Rain." "Godzilla Singular Point" was directed by Takahashi, and executed by a creative team which includes Kan Sawada, Japanese science-fiction novelist Toh Enjoe’s contribution served as his first debut, Kazue Kato will serve as the character designer, and animator Eiji Yamamori  will do the Kaiju design. 

"Elves" is composed of six episodes, and is created and written by Stefan Jaworski, directed by Roni Ezra and produced by Elise H. Lund for Miso Film. The original series is based on an original idea of Jannik Tai Mosholt and Christian Potalivo, who also serve as executive producers together with Peter Bose and Jonas Allen from Miso Film. “Godzilla Singular Point,” follows the successful release of other Godzilla films, such as Godzilla: Planet of the Monsters, Godzilla: City on the Edge of Battle and Godzilla: The Planet Eater. The series is directed by Atsushi Takahashi and produced by Anime Studio Bones (My Hero Academia) in partnership with studio Orange, (Beastars, Land of the Lustrous), using a combination of hand-drawn and CG animation styles.

“Elves” showcases the story of a family of four, who hopes to reconnect over Christmas in a remote island in the Danish archipelago, controlled by elves. When the girl in the family finds and brings home a baby elf, she disrupts the balance and leads evey person on the island to a life-or-death battle for survival.
