The hit series "Adolescence," produced by Plan B, has achieved exceptional global viewership since its Netflix launch on March 13th, amassing over 114 million views. After just four weeks, it has already become the 4th most-watched series in the platform’s history, following "Wednesday," the fourth season of "Stranger Things," and "Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story."

The title promptly supported by Netflix, is the result of a creative collaboration between the series' writers and Jeremy Kleiner, producer at Plan B ("One Love," "Beetlejuice Beetlejuice," "Wolfs," "F1"...), which has been part of the Mediawan group since 2022. The series is perfectly aligned with Mediawan’s DNA and strategic vision: producing high-impact European series on a global scale by promoting co-productions and empowering European talents to address significant issues through outstanding storytelling.

Spanning four single-shot episodes—a true artistic feat—the mini-series, directed by Philip Barantini and written by Stephen Graham and Jack Thorne, immerses viewers in a criminal investigation where Jamie (Owen Cooper), a seemingly ordinary 13-year-old schoolboy, is suddenly accused of murdering one of his classmates.

"Adolescence," a groundbreaking project in both form and content, has ignited significant societal and political debate around the violence prevalent on social media, rapidly evolving into a global cultural phenomenon. This impact is particularly notable in the UK, where Prime Minister Keir Starmer has proposed making the series freely accessible in all secondary schools across the country.
