NETFLIX INCREASES ITS DOCUSOAPS SLATE WITH “SELLING SUNSET” AND “BLING EMPIRE”

"Selling Sunset," produced by Done and Done Productions alongside Lionsgate, has been renewed for a second season and is set to air later this year. "Bling Empire," and "My Unorthodox Life," are also set to air in 2021.

Netflix has added two new docusoaps to its catalog, “Selling Sunset'' and “Bling Empire.” “These shows follow a person or group of people going about their real, everyday lives,” the platform stated. “They can offer a fun, light-hearted escape, or inspire a juicy, heated debate. They can provide a glimpse into a world different from our own, or even show a new side of our own circles.”

“Selling Sunset” has been renewed for two seasons. The show is produced by Done and Done Productions alongside Lionsgate, executively produced by Adam DiVello. Its cast member list includes Jason and Brett Oppenheim are Chrishell Stause, Christine Quinn, Mary Fitzgerald, Romain Bonnet, Heather Rae Young, Amanza Smith, Maya Vander, and Davina Potratz. 

“Bling Empire,” which premiered in January, has been renewed for a second season. Jeff Jenkins, Ross Weintraub, and Reinout Oerlemans serve as executive producers, while Brandon Panaligan will contribute as showrunner. Jeff Jenkins will produce the show in association with 3BMG. Additionally, “My Unorthodox Life,” will also be added to the catalog. Its executive producers are Jeff Jenkins, Ross Weintraub, Reinout Oerlemans, and Julia Haart, with Lenid Rolov serving as showrunners, and Jeff Jenkins productions serving as its production company. The series is set to air later this year.

“Bling Empire” follows a wildly wealthy group of Asian and Asian American friends in Los Angeles. While their days and nights are filled with fabulous parties and expensive shopping sprees, don’t let the glitz and glamour fool you. Between running multi-billion dollar businesses and traveling the world, these friends are as good at keeping secrets as they are at spilling them. And there is certainly no shortage of secrets. "Selling Sunset," set to premier later in 2021, sees Allure Realty, owned by Sharelle Rosado, is looking to dominate Suncoast.
