Netflix is set to premier the co-production between ZDF Enterprises and its affiliate World Media Rights, “The Lost Pirate Kingdom.” The Netflix original will debut on 15th March worldwide. “We’re thrilled that Netflix is bringing ‘The Lost Pirate Kingdom’ to their 204 million subscribers as a Netflix Original,” Alan Griffiths, CEO of World Media Rights, said. “ The series uses techniques pioneered by World Media Rights which are a big leap forward in historical recreation.”

ZDF, a World Media Rights stakeholder, will distribute the show, which requires a new production technique named Hyper Dynamic Animation. It allowed World Media Rights to add the pirate republic of Nasau in the 1700s with real-life objects as opposed to a green screen.

World Media Rights’ Alan Griffiths, David McNab, and Eamon Hardy serve as Executive Producers. ‘"The Lost Pirate Kingdom’ is based on a real-life story about the pirates of the Caribbean. “These techniques allow us to create lost worlds realistically and we have endeavored, through research, to recreate them exactly as they were,” Griffiths said.

Covering the War of Spain and the British privateers who were left out of a job, the series showcases how the first fully democratic republic in the Bahamas was created and how slaves were freed, ultimately leading to American Independence. The series features the real lives of Pirate legends like Blackbeard, Henry Jennings, Benjamin Hornigold, and Henry Vane.
