Nickelodeon Latin America has partnered with global conservation organization, The Nature Conservancy (TNC), for its new environmentally focused original digital format show, "Planeta Bala" (20 eps. x 7-10 min) created and produced by ViacomCBS Digital Studios International (VDSI) Americas.

"Planeta Bala",  hosted by singer/song-writer and digital media star Bala, has premiered in  Mexico, Argentina on TrendybyNick.com, IG TV, and YouTube (@TrendyByNick / #PlanetaBala).

Under the terms of the partnership, Nickelodeon and VDSI Americas will work with TNC to develop Planeta Bala’s episode themes, providing research, educational resources, and videos that have to do with various environmental issues. Some of the topics will include climate change, the protection of land and water, food and water sustainability, and the building of healthy cities, among others. Additionally, TNC will also bring to the project various young environmental “Agents of Change” to be featured on the show who inspire action for environmental issues in the region.

"By way of this partnership with The Nature Conservancy for Planeta Bala, we aim to reach and empower kids about environmental issues and give them a better understanding of the importance of protecting our planet with relevant facts,” commented Tatiana Rodriguez, SVP/Brand Head of Kids & Families for Nickelodeon Latin America. “Bala has been advocating for the environment for quite some time, so this show is the perfect platform for her to highlight easy daily activities that can make a difference in protecting our environment.”

“We recognize young people as vital ambassadors for the planet. Being able to bring our science to millions of kids throughout Latin America is very important for us. It is a privilege to work with Nickelodeon and Bala to inspire and engage the next generation with this initiative,” mentioned Debora Hertfelder, Marketing Manager for TNC Latin America.

“It is our responsibility to take care of our planet,” commented Bala. “If we continue to be careless with its resources, we, and future generations, will suffer the consequences down the road. I’m honored to be part of this initiative with Nickelodeon and The Nature Conservancy to use my voice on Planeta Bala to show kids that even the smallest actions can make a difference.”
