Prime Video Italy will launch its new local original series "Costiera", an international action-drama directed by Adam Bernstein ("Breaking Bad"), written by Elena Bucaccio (head of drama, Lux Vide) and Francesco Arlanch. The series is co- produced by Amazon Studios and Luca Bernabei for Lux Vide, a Fremantle Company. It will be available on Prime Video in 2024 and distributed globally, thanks to the strong cooperation of Fremantle.

Daniel De Luca, an Italian-American former marine, is a problem-solver in one of the most exclusive hotel of the world, in Positano. Daniel, or DD as everybody knows him, helps rich tourists get out of trouble and return home, while he spends his life in this paradise on Earth as a guest of the owner—because Daniel was the only person to catch a glimpse of the face of the man who may have kidnapped his daughter, and is therefore the only person who may be able to hunt him down. Alongside an international cast, "Costiera" will feature a gripping storyline, a complex main character, spectacular locations, and fast-paced action. The series will begin production this summer on the Amalfi Coast and will be shot in English.

“'Costiera' will transport our customers to the Amalfi Coast, where everything may look perfect but all is not as it seems—and I can’t wait,” said James Farrell, VP Local Originals, Amazon Studios. “Our Italian Originals team, led by Nicole Morganti, have not only crafted what promises to be an outstanding show, but a revolutionary deal for Italian production.”

“We always seek to raise the bar for our customers, and 'Costiera' is another example of how we’re looking to do this,” said Marco Azzani, director of Prime Video, Italy. “It’s a very ambitious show, and together with Lux Vide and Fremantle, we’ll work together to realize that ambition for audiences globally.”

“I am absolutely thrilled about 'Costiera', a high-concept project that we developed in-house from the very beginning, with the two writers Elena Bucaccio and Francesco Arlanch,” said Luca Bernabei, CEO and producer, Lux Vide. “The international appeal of the series highlights the global reach of our shows. We consider this ambitious title to be the highest point of our collective expertise, as we continue to showcase Italy and our lifestyle to the world, this time through a captivating contemporary Italian story set in a luxurious setting.”

“Very proud of this new project from Lux Vide with our partners at Amazon Studios, another great example of a locally created show designed to entertain global audiences,” said Andrea Scrosati, group chief operating officer, CEO Continental Europe, Fremantle.

“An intoxicating thriller set in the sun-drenched Amalfitana, 'Costiera' is the ultimate blue-sky drama that ticks all the boxes,” said Jens Richter, CEO of Commercial and International, Fremantle. “Fremantle is delighted to work with Lux Vide on bringing this lavish, high-end international series to audiences across the world.”
