RTL Deutschland expands GEO Television with the new SVOD GEO Wild

German broadcaster RTL Deutschland is expanding its pay TV channel GEO Television with GEO Wild, a new subscription-based video-on-demand service offering documentaries on nature and wildlife, Broadband TV News reported.

The platform is being initially distributed exclusively on Vodafone Deutschland’s cable network. Apparently, further platforms will be added later, including RTL streaming service TVNow (from November 3 RTL+).

The precondition for accessing GEO Wild content is a receiver with VOD functionality. This includes all GigaTV boxes and the Horizon cable receiver. A television package that provides access to HD channels is also necessary.
