The streaming scene in Spain added a new player: Runtime, a new advertising-based platform that at its launch offers ten linear channels of movies and series that users can access for free and without the need for a subscription from a wide variety of devices.

Under the Free Ad Supported TV modality, Runtime offers seven thematic cinema and three series channels, which encompasses a total of more than a thousand titles. Its programming includes some Hollywood blockbusters, in which films such as "The Expendables," "Perfume," "Hachiko," "Valkyrie," "A Bronx Tale," and "Precious" stand out, among many others. The entire catalog is available in Spanish.

“Runtime content is of very good quality,”  commented Yamila Abud, Director of Content, during the platform's presentation. In detail, Runtime has a flagship channel, Runtime Cine y Series, and also has channels specifically dedicated to each genre, such as action, comedy, romance, crime, thriller & horror, and classic. In addition, thanks to an agreement signed with RTVE, Runtime offers a channel entirely dedicated to “Ana y los 7” and another to “Curro Jiménez”.

At the same time, Runtime also provides a free AVOD (Advertising Video On-Demand) version, which allows users to consume the programs they want at any time. The service is available now through Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, Roku, iOS, and Android devices, and also on Samsung, LG, Orange TV, Pluto TV, and TVUP.

“This is a new market, and I believe that this is how this platform that we are now launching should be understood. This is the FAST market, whose main advantage is that they are free for the consumer. Digital is no longer exclusive to payment environments, but can also be a direct offer to the consumer for free. The gap that Runtime wants to occupy is that of being an independent film and series editor so that all the platforms that operate in the FAST market have the content that we are providing,”  said Pablo Romero, Director of Runtime Spain.
