Venu Sports, the upcoming standalone streaming service being built through a joint venture to be established by Disney’s ESPN, Fox Corp. and Warner Bros. Discovery, will be available at a launch price of $42.99 per month for the service, with a seven-day free trial. Anyone signing up for Venu's launch price will be able to receive the service for that same price for 12-months from time of sign-up, with the ability to cancel at any time.
Targeted at sports fans outside the traditional pay TV bundle, Venu is planning a launch in the U.S. in the fall and will offer thousands of live sports events from all the major professional sports leagues and top college conferences. The streaming service will provide access to 14 live sports channels and an expansive library of on-demand content from the collective companies' portfolios of sports networks and ESPN+.
"With an impressive portfolio of sports programming, Venu will provide sports fans in the U.S. with a single destination for watching many of the most sought-after games and events," said Pete Distad, CEO of the upcoming Venu Sports service. "We're building Venu from the ground up for fans who want seamless access to watch the sports they love, and we will launch at a compelling price point that will appeal to the cord cutter and cord-never fans currently not served by existing pay TV packages."
Subscribers to Venu will enjoy access to an array of sports content, including linear networks like ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, SECN, ACCN, ESPNEWS, ABC, FOX, FS1, FS2, BTN, TNT, TBS, truTV, and ESPN+. Venu's programming is built around three key pillars: extensive live games and event coverage, iconic sports studio shows and pre/post game programming, and a library of on-demand sports content. The service offers live coverage of the NFL, MLB, NHL, NBA, WNBA, NCAA Division I football and basketball, U.S. and international soccer (including the FIFA World Cup, UEFA European Championship, FA Cup, and MLS) combat sports, Grand Slam tennis, championship golf, INDYCAR, NASCAR, and F1 auto racing. Additionally, subscribers can stay informed with shows like ESPN's “SportsCenter,” “First Take,” and “College GameDay,” as well as FOX's “NFL Sunday” and TNT's “Inside the NBA.”
Venu also will boast a lineup of on-demand content, featuring ESPN's “30 for 30” library, ESPN+ Originals, ESPN Films, and Fox Sports Films documentaries, celebrating sports culture and history. The service provides year-round professional golf coverage, including select rounds from the Masters Tournament and extensive coverage of the PGA Championship and PGA TOUR LIVE. College sports enthusiasts will have access to games and events from major conferences like the SEC, ACC, Big East, Big Ten, and Big 12, covering NCAA Football, including the College Football Playoffs, and NCAA Men's and Women's Basketball, including March Madness. Combat sports fans can enjoy a robust slate of boxing and MMA events, including UFC, Top Rank Boxing, PFL, and Bellator.
