New studies affirm that after its launch on November 12th, Disney’ streaming platform Disney+ is approaching one million new subscribers per day. According to the application’s metrics website Apptopia, Disney+’ mobile application has been downloaded 15.5 million times, with the majority of users moving from free trial to a $6.99 basic monthly membership fee, as part of the platform’s basic plan.

The streaming service, which offers content from Disney as well as its different properties, such as Marvel and the Star Wars Franchise, reached $5 million in acquisitions within its website, showed Apptopia. The analysis also highlighted a strong demand for Disney+’ $12.99 monthly service, which includes the same content as the basic plan, plus other services like Hulu and ESPN+. This has guaranteed growth in these other platforms of more than 55%.

Referring to this, Consumer Trends Analyst Dan Ives told New York Post, “The success lies in its price, content, and varied packages, Disney pulled a great strategy.” It is very important to point out that consumer trends on rival platforms like Netflix, HBO, and Amazon Prime have remained identical, which leads to believe that audiences are loyal to their content preferences on each service but also open to new offerings such as Disney+.
