WarnerMedia recently appointed Nermin Eroğlu as an Executive Producer for HBO Max. “Nermin brings a lot of experience when it comes to producing best-in-class programming – I am delighted she has joined the team,” Mia Edde said. “As we move forward developing a slate of Turkish content, Nermin will be a crucial point of contact for the creative community, enabling us to unearth stories that can succeed both locally and globally.”
Under her new role, Eroğlu will work on the development and production of all the originals commissioned and produced in Turkey by HBO Max. She will report to Mia Edde, who was appointed Executive Director of Turkish content for WarnerMedia International last year. The titles led by Edde are set to arrive to Turkey later this year. Antony Root, exec VP and head of original production at WarnerMedia, leads the pan-EMEA original programming team that commissions and produces HBO Max originals.
The streamer is currently available in 46 territories across the Americas and Europe. On 8 March, it plans to expand to an additional 15 countries in Europe, including the Netherlands, Poland and Portugal. Later this year, launches are planned in a further six countries including Turkey and Greece.
Prior to joining HBO Max, Eroğlu was a producer at production company Ay Yapim, and between 2017 and 2019 was the deputy general manager for drama at local broadcaster Kanal D, where she produced drama series Vatanim Sensin (Wounded Love). Before that, Eroğlu worked for TIMS Productions and BKM Film. Her exec producer credits include Muhteşem Yüzyil (Magnificent Century), Asi and Firtina.
