ZDF Enterprises acquires a 49% stake in Real Film Berlin

ZDF Enterprises and the Studio Hamburg Production Group are planning to work together more closely in the fictional area starting January 2022. Subject to the approval of the antitrust authorities, ZDF Enterprises will acquire a 49% stake in REAL FILM Berlin GmbH. “I am pleased to now extent the excellent collaboration that already exists in the non-fictional area with the Studio Hamburg Production Group to the fictional genre. REAL FILM is a great addition to our investment portfolio in fiction programs. I wish the two managing directors of REAL FILM Michael Lehmann and Henning Kamm every success," said Fred Burcksen, President and CEO of ZDF Enterprises GmbH.

A subsidiary of the Studio Hamburg Production Group, the production portfolio includes the ARD event movie 3 ½ HOURS on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the building of the Berlin Wall, the multiple award-winning Netflix series UNORTHODOX together with Studio Airlift and the ZDF crime series "Against Angst" and "Colleagues." 

Other productions in recent years are rbb's "Tatort,"  and "Polizeiruf:110," alongide "Doctor's Offfice With a View," "Polizeiruf:110," "Soko Wismar," and "Auckland Detectives," among others.  In addition, the venture has acquired several development contracts for signature series for Netflix, Sky and ARD, among others.
