Laurent Puons, managing director, and Cécile Menoni, executive director of the Monte-Carlo Television Festival, announce the French premiere screening of "Watson" and this year’s recipient of the International Golden Nymph for Most Promising Talent award, Jaz Sinclair, at the 64th edition of the Festival, taking place June 13–17, 2025, in Monaco.

The opening of the Festival will be marked by a French premiere screening of "Watson", produced by CBS Studios and distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution. The first episode will be broadcast following the opening ceremony at the Grimaldi Forum Monaco on Friday, June 13 at 7:00 p.m.

Starring Morris Chestnut ("The Best Man", "Reasonable Doubt"), "Watson" takes place six months after the death of the titular character’s friend and partner Sherlock Holmes at the hands of Moriarty. Morris Chestnut plays Dr. John Watson, who resumes his medical career as the head of a clinic dedicated to treating rare disorders. But Watson’s old life isn't done with him—Moriarty and Watson are set to write their own chapter in a story that has fascinated audiences for more than a century. "Watson" is a medical drama with a strong investigative spine, offering a modern take on one of history’s greatest detectives as he turns his attention from solving crimes to solving medical mysteries.

The series is executive produced by Craig Sweeny, Morris Chestnut, Sallie Patrick, Larry Teng, Shäron Moalem MD, PhD, Aaron Kaplan, and Brian Morewitz. Larry Teng directed three episodes, and Craig Sweeny wrote the premiere episode and serves as showrunner.

In addition to Morris Chestnut, the series stars Eve Harlow as Ingrid Derian, Peter Mark Kendall as Dr. Stephens Croft and Dr. Adam Croft, Ritchie Coster as Shinwell Johnson, Inga Schlingmann as Sasha Lubbock, and Rochelle Aytes as Dr. Mary Morstan.

Following Théo Christine in 2022, Julia de Nunez in 2023, and Simone Ashley in 2024, American actor Jaz Sinclair will receive the Golden Nymph for Most Promising Talent in 2025. This special award honors the exceptional talent of an emerging and promising actor and the growing international recognition of their work.

Jaz made her feature film debut in 20th Century Fox’s "Paper Towns", directed by Jake Schreier. Additional film work includes "When the Bough Breaks" opposite Regina Hall and Morris Chestnut, and Music Box Films’ "Please Baby Please", starring Andrea Riseborough and Demi Moore. On television, Jaz appeared in all three seasons of Joe Swanberg’s star-studded Netflix anthology series "Easy", and rose to global prominence for her role in Netflix’s "The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina" as the empowered and outspoken ‘Rosalind’, opposite Kiernan Shipka.

The artist currently stars as ‘Marie’ in Prime Video’s "Gen V", the hit spinoff of "The Boys", produced by Sony Pictures Television and set at America’s only college exclusively for superheroes. Nerdist named Jaz one of the “best characters of 2023,” and for her performance, she was nominated for a 2024 Black Reel Award, a 2024 Critics Choice Super Award, and a 2024 Gotham TV Award.

She is also a musician under the artist name Jasimi. Her first EP Bought Myself Daisies gained traction and acclaim with major playlists—including Spotify’s “New Music Friday” for her debut single "Doing Great". Jasimi is currently working on her next project with producer Jaron Crespi, set for release later this year.

Cécile Menoni, executive director of the Monte-Carlo Television Festival, expressed how pleased she was both with the preview of the premiere and with the award the festival will be presenting:We’re extremely pleased to present the French premiere of 'Watson' and very much look forward to welcoming the series' star Morris Chestnut and executive producer/showrunner Craig Sweeny to Monaco. This standout drama from CBS Studios will be a fantastic production to kick off our 64th edition.” She added, “Our Festival always seeks to recognize emerging talent, and we’re delighted to present the International Golden Nymph for Most Promising Talent award this year to Jaz Sinclair," commented.
