NATPE Global announced that BAFTA, Emmy and Golden Globe nominee David Oyelowo will receive The Hollywood Reporter's prestigious Trailblazer Award for his outstanding contribution to storytelling as an actor, producer, director, and writer in television and cinema. The award will be presented during the convention, which will take place from January 16 to 18, 2024, at the InterContinental Miami hotel.

This recognition, recently awarded to personalities such as Eva Longoria, Cris Abrego, Niecy Nash, and America Ferrera, celebrates the work of those who constantly challenge the artistic, cultural and commercial limits of Hollywood, bringing to light stories and characters traditionally marginalized in the global entertainment industry. The Trailblazer Award recipients have also used their influence to create opportunities for emerging artists and support their peers in meaningful ways, all in order to create a more equitable share of opportunities for artists in Hollywood.

Following the award presentation, Oyelowo will chat with The Hollywood Reporter’s Editor, Stacey Wilson Hunt, about his career, including his recent performance in the lead role of Paramount+'s Golden Globe and Critics Choice-nominated "Lawmen: Bass Reeves," where he also served as executive producer.

Furthermore, Oyelowo, along with his wife and producing partner Jessica Oyelowo, recently signed a multi-year deal with Apple TV+ through their Yoruba Saxon label, where they will develop and produce series and film projects. Oyelowo is also the co-founder of MANSA, the free streaming platform for global black cultural content.
