As the UK screen sector grapples with new technologies, shifting audience behaviours, and calls for fresh voices, the International Moving Image Society (IMIS) will stage its flagship London Student Showcase on 29 May 2025, uniting leading figures from film and television with rising talent from the country’s top media universities.

Designed to spotlight emerging talent and foster new connections across the screen industries, the event will bring together student creators from IMIS accredited Roehampton University and Bournemouth University alongside some of the UK’s most respected industry leaders.

The afternoon will feature exclusive in-conversation sessions with Fatima Salaria, Executive Producer, Factual and Factual Drama, Dancing Ledge Productions; Basma Khalifa, filmmaker, director and writer and, Chris Munro, double Academy Award–winning production sound mixer. All sessions will be hosted by journalist and presenter, Omar Mehtab.

Attendees can expect an inspiring programme that tackles creative risk, industry challenges, and the future of content creation — while showcasing fresh projects and perspectives from the next generation of moving image professionals from IMIS accredited universities, Bournemouth and Roehampton.

David Pope, President of IMIS, commented: “This student showcase is all about connection — bringing emerging voices together with experienced industry figures to spark new ideas, collaborations, and career journeys. We’re proud to champion the future of the UK screen sector.”
