KOREA TO BE “VIRTUAL” GUEST COUNTRY AT DISCOP AFRICA

Eight Korean companies will attend under the Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA) banner and showcase programs, adaptation rights, and projects in an advanced stage of development: CH ENM, KBS Media, M2S, MBC, SBS Content Hub, Studio Moggozi, You Need Character, and Young Toys.

The organizers of the Discop Africa online market announced that they will welcome Korea as their first "Virtual" Guest Country announced today. The long-form market will take place for 12 weeks, from Monday 3 August to Friday 23 October. Eight Korean companies will attend under the Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA) banner and showcase programs, adaptation rights, and projects in an advanced stage of development: CH ENM, KBS Media, M2S, MBC, SBS Content Hub, Studio Moggozi, You Need Character, and Young Toys.

Talks, exclusive presentations, and interactive discussions labeled the “Korean Week” series will be scheduled during Discop Africa's parallel virtual conference program. “Kocca helps Korea’s creative industry access overseas business opportunities Africa is now a strategic growth market for Korea and Discop Africa is our gateway to the continent. We look forward to building long-lasting and two-way relationships with Africa’s dynamic entertainment and media sectors,” says Dragon Park, General Director, Kocca, who adds, “Korea is also very honored to be DISCOP AFRICA’s first Virtual Guest Country. This is a great opportunity to present our country’s creative sector, showcase exclusive Korean programs, and build up K-Content fans across Africa.”

In total, 50 global distributors and independent producers will take part in Discop'ss first foray into the world of virtual B2B networking. “Riding the worldwide popularity of K-content, Discop Africa will bring to buyers and coproduction influencers offerings spanning genres such as crime, sci-fi, romance, drama, reality, and animation,” says Patrick Zuchowicki, President of Discop.
