The fourth edition of the Audio-Visual Producers Summit officially has opened in Merano, Italy. The event brings together top-level professionals from the international audiovisual industry to discuss the major structural changes shaping the sector.

From July 21 to 23, L’Alto Adige hosts key players from across the industry to engage in dialogue on critical issues for market development. The three-day agenda features a full program of panels and meetings focused on analyzing the economic impact of the Italian audiovisual sector, with a special focus on its ability to attract foreign investment.

A key highlight of the program is a comparative session on tax credit regulations, examining financing models and public incentive schemes implemented in Italy, Germany, and the UK.

One of the most anticipated topics is the adoption of new production technologies, including artificial intelligence and VFX. Three interdisciplinary panels will explore these themes, bringing together producers, academics, and representatives from leading global tech companies.

The Summit also includes a dedicated session on the ongoing transformation of Hollywood, offering insights into the challenges and opportunities facing the global film industry in a time of rapid change.

Chiara Sbarigia, President of APA, commented: "In a constantly evolving environment driven by technological innovation, it’s essential to create a space for strategic reflection — to explore new audience behaviors, the opportunities and risks of artificial intelligence, and how to build international alliances. The Summit aims to provide and shape that space. We're also proud to showcase our regions and their excellence to our global partners, and I thank all our supporters for making this possible."

Renate Ranzi, newly appointed Head of IDM Film Commission Südtirol, stated:"For the Autonomous Province of Bolzano and IDM Film Commission Südtirol, hosting the AVP-Summit 2025 is a valuable opportunity to strengthen international audiovisual co-productions and promote our territory as an attractive filming location — a cultural and economic bridge between North and South, particularly between Italy and the German-speaking world. That's why our Film Commission has been actively working over the past months to prepare companies, partners, sponsors, producers, and local professionals to welcome this prestigious event."

The AVPSummit is organized by the Italian Audiovisual Producers Association (APA), promoted by the Italian Ministry of Culture (MiC), with support from the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAECI), ICE Agency, the Autonomous Province of Bolzano, and IDM Film Commission Südtirol, in collaboration with the Producers Guild of America (PGA) and the Motion Picture Association (MPA), and with the contribution of PFX. Special thanks to Forst, the Merano Tourist Office, Caroma, and Cantina Merano.
