An international jury made up of leading figures in cinema, television and fashion will be attending the 21st edition of the Monte-Carlo Film Festival de la Comédie, the prestigious event, conceived and directed by Ezio Greggio which will take place from 27 to 30 November at the Grimaldi Forum in the Principality of Monaco.
The personalities selected to be part of the jury of the 21st edition of the festival dedicated exclusively to comedy include; President Anne Brochet (“Cyrano de Bergerac”), who received the César Award for best supporting actress for “Tous les matins du Monde”; Cristiana Dell'Anna, revelation actress of the international film "Francesca Cabrini", Ricky Memphis, actor known for comedy films such as "Immaturi" , “Natale a Cortina”, and finally Alain-Fabien Delon, French actor, model and writer, known for works such as “Savage Days”, “Fabio Montale” and “You and the Night”.
The Monte-Carlo Film Festival will take place at the Grimaldi Forum in Monte Carlo, where screenings and masterclasses alternate with some of the most beloved protagonists of international, Italian and French cinema. The event will culminate with the traditional Gala evening and the awards ceremony, scheduled for Saturday 30 November.
The main objective of the Monte-Carlo Film Festival is to promote and disseminate the various genres of comedy through film previews, both in competition and out of competition. The Kermesse represents an important international showcase for a genre much appreciated by the public, but often considered "minor" by critics.
Thanks to the commitment of Ezio Greggio and the late Mario Monicelli, co-founder of the festival, the comedy has also achieved a revaluation in other highly prestigious festivals such as Cannes, Rome, Turin and Venice.
After the excellent response to the previous edition, the introduction of a section dedicated to short films is planned, the Short Comedy Award, reserved for directors, actors and producers of short comedies. Registrations and further information are available on “Filmfreeway”, one of the main international festival portals.
Since its first edition, the Monte Carlo Film Festival has been held under the High Patronage of H.S.S. Prince Albert II of Monaco and the Embassy of Italy, in partnership with EFG Bank (Monaco). Radio Monte Carlo is the Festival’s official partner.
