Application deadlines for the NEM Awards 2024, the competition for the best TV content from the CEE region, are closing during October. Registration is free for all participants from the CEE region, with deadlines determined by the three main categories. Next, let's review each of them in detail.
Firstly, Best Pre-development Project Award is for creative individuals who have an idea for a TV script, regardless of their experience. Several TV formats are eligible for submission in the following subcategories: scripted series, scripted feature-length film, documentary series/feature-length film, and entertainment format. The prize fund includes the opportunity to present the project at domestic and international partner events such as NEM Dubrovnik, Heart of Europe, Conecta, and Series Mania, as well as numerous opportunities for networking with colleagues from the industry. Secondly, The Council of Europe Series Co-production Development Award is intended to foster creative collaborations in series co-production and empower independent producers in turning their international drama, documentary, or animation series dreams into reality. The award forms part of the Pilot Programme for Series Co-productions, an initiative of the Council of Europe, home of Eurimages. The main prize is €50,000 non-reimbursable. Deadline for applications is until 17 October 2024.
FInally, Best Finished Project in the CEE Award will honor the best TV series in the CEE. It is a prestigious acknowledgment of excellence, celebrating fully realized and completed works in TV series originating from Central and Eastern Europe. The organizers invite screenwriters and content creators, students related to the industry, producers, television and production companies, talents and other professionals from the TV industry from the CEE region, Europe and the rest of the world to take advantage of the opportunity that can take their project to a new level. Winners of all major categories and subcategories will be selected by an independent jury of top industry experts. The award ceremony will take place during the NEM Zagreb 2024 event, from December 10 to 12, 2024 at the Esplanade Hotel in Zagreb, which will be attended by key industry leaders.
