The Portuguese series "The Medalists" continues to gain international attention, having won awards at two of the most prestigious international festivals in the audiovisual industry: the New York Festivals - TV & Film Awards and the World Media Festivals 2025.
"The Medalists," an original Opto SIC series produced by SP Televisão, was awarded the bronze medal at the prestigious New York Festivals - TV & Film Awards, in the Streaming Drama category. This was the only Portuguese television and streaming production to make this year's list of winners, standing out among hundreds of international entries.
This series was also distinguished at the World Media Festivals 2025, winning two important awards: the Intermedia-Globe Grand Award and the Intermedia-Globe Gold in the Children & Youth: Entertainment category. The Medalists stood out for its original, sensitive, and impactful approach with younger audiences, exploring behind the scenes of the competitive world of youth Olympic sport.
Both festivals celebrate excellence, annually honoring productions from around the world for their technical and creative qualities and are a benchmark in the global audiovisual industry.
