The 2024 ContentAsia Awards announced its nominees

There are 141 nominations in 27 categories. Winners will be announced in Taipei on Thursday, 5 September 2024.

More than 140 programmes have been nominated in the 5th annual ContentAsia Awards, highlighting premium video content and talent achievements across multiple platforms in the Asia region. More than 500 entries from 13 countries/territories in Asia were submitted for the ContentAsia Awards this year, a record for the five-year-old event.The nominees were chosen by 77 jury members, hand-picked from across industry sectors in Asia and around the world.

The 2024 ContentAsia Awards celebrate Asia’s best premium video/TV content in 27 categories.This year’s categories include Best TV Drama Series for both local and regional audiences, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Original Game Show, Best Original Song and Best Factual Entertainment Programme. The full list of categories is here. Winners of the 2024 ContentAsia Awards will be announced in Taipei on 5 September 2024.

This year’s entries came from China, India, Indonesia, Singapore, Mongolia, Hong Kong, Philippines, Malaysia, Taiwan, Japan, Korea and Vietnam.Titles with multiple nominations include Warner Bros Discovery’s first Asian adaptation of “Tom and Jerry”; BEC World Thailand/Ch3’s “The Betrayal”/ เกมรักทรยศ (“Game Rak Torrayod”); GMM TV Co’s (Thailand) “Enigma”; Nippon TV’s “Koso Koso”, co-developed with BBC Studios Music & Entertainment/Empire of Arkadia; “Kafas” by Applause Entertainment & Madiba Entertainment, based on the All3Media International format “Dark Money”; Hong Kong broadcaster TVB’s “The Queen of News”; and Mediacorp/Infinite Studios’ “Operandi Gerhana”.

ContentAsia Awards’ President, Janine Stein remarked on the qualitative growth of Asian content:The quality of Asia’s original production continues to go from strength to strength. The industry in Asia has not, of course, been immune to global shifts, which are challenging everyone in multiple ways. However, producers, storytellers and platforms clearly remain committed to serving a wide range of consumers, continuing to develop their creative voice and muscle with authentic Asian stories across a broad range of genres and formats. We are honoured to be able to recognise and shine a spotlight on the amazing talent and works that we have in Asia," stated.
