The 2024 ContentAsia Awards takes place in Taiwan for the first time on Thursday, 5 September, in a live ceremony and party in Taipei attended by guests from the entertainment industry across Asia. The 5th annual ContentAsia Awards Party is hosted by Trendy Taipei a mega multi-national festival, consisting of 13 highlight events related to music and TV entertainment, live music performances, digital marketing and the tech industry.
The events include the two-day ContentAsia Summit along with ContentAsia Premieres co-organised with Studio76 and Rising Stories, and the ContentAsia x GagaOOLala half-day focus on LGBTQ+ programming and production. Trendy Taipei runs at venues across the city from 2-8 September.
More than 140 programmes from 13 countries in Asia have been nominated in the 2024 ContentAsia Awards, highlighting premium video content and talent achievements across multiple platforms in the Asia region. Awards will be presented by, among others, the Taipei City Department of Cultural Affairs Commissioner, Shih-Ping Tsai.
The 2024 ContentAsia Awards celebrate Asia’s best premium video/TV content in 27 categories. This year’s categories include Best TV Drama Series for both local and regional audiences, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Original Game Show, Best Original Song and Best Factual Entertainment Programme. More than 500 entries from 13 countries/territories in Asia were submitted for the ContentAsia Awards this year, a record for the five-year-old event. The nominees were chosen by 77 jury members, hand-picked from across industry sectors in Asia and around the world.
This year’s entries came from China, India, Indonesia, Singapore, Mongolia, Hong Kong, Philippines, Malaysia, Taiwan, Japan, Korea and Vietnam. Titles from Taiwan nominated this year include Catchplay, Hakka TV, Portico Media, Screenworks Asia and Taiwan+.
Nominated programmes from elsewhere in the region include Applause Entertainment (India), BEC World/Channel 3 (Thailand), Coupang (Korea), GMM TV Co (Thailand), Mediacorp (Singapore), True CJ Creations (Thailand/Korea), Nippon TV (Japan), Television Broadcasts Ltd (Hong Kong), and Warner Bros Discovery (Regional).
