Content Budapest and NATPE Budapest, both scheduled to take place in June this year in the city of Budapest, Hungary, announced news for their respective markets as they continue to move forward with their organizational plans. Developed by C21, Content Budapest is scheduled for June 27-29, while NATPE Budapest, now ran by Brunico Communications, has set its date for June 19-22.

Content Budapest has announced the first raft of buyers confirmed for the June event, and also the first executives in the CEE100, which will be launched at Content Budapest and aims to bring together the leading players in the region's content business to showcase the most creative work across Central & Eastern Europe.

C21 has also opened the Content Budapest Pitch, which uses C21’s global platform to discover the next generation of local shows and connect them with a global audience of 200.000 content industry executives. The pitch competition carries a US$20.000 marketing prize across C21 platforms and brings the winners to Content London to continue the development of the winning show.

The organizers of the market also confirmed that the official Ukrainian delegation, Ukrainian Content. Global Cooperation (UC.GC), will be part of Content Budapest. This union of the leading Ukrainian broadcasters, media groups, and creative powerhouses aims to build a bridge between Ukraine and the international audiovisual industry.

“Content Budapest is about acting local and thinking global. C21 is connected with the best local partners and is leveraging its market-leading platforms to ensure a great experience for everyone doing business with and across CEE, ensuring this is the must-attend event in June. We have the full team on board that previously delivered Budapest markets, and together with our partners at MRM, and the C21 programming team, are set to deliver an unrivalled experience. We are also bringing back the boat party, just to put a cherry on the top. The market is excited about the fact C21 is committed to developing a progressive pan-regional event, not just a sales market, and bringing all of our experience in delivering next-generation creativity and connectivity to Content Budapest,”  said David Jenkinson, Editor-in-chief & Managing Director at C21.

●  NATPE BUDAPEST

On the other hand, gearing up to welcome qualified buyers from the CEE region and the international marketplace to this year’s event, NATPE Budapest announced that Victoria Elmacioglu and Rustam Kasymov have joined its team and will head up buyer relations.

Based in Greece and with more than 20 years of experience in development, distribution and co-production strategy/planning, Victoria Elmacioglu has a rooted legacy in the CEE region’s TV market. Her family’s production company, Television Enterprises, is one of Greece’s most successful indie studios, and has produced content for channels and platforms operating throughout Europe and the Middle East. In 2017, Victoria established the Mediamixx Television Festival, an event and awards ceremony that celebrates television excellence in the CEE and SEE regions.

Also on the buyer relations team for NATPE Budapest 2023 is Rustam Kasymov, who worked for DISCOP for ten years before it was acquired in 2017 by NATPE Global Markets, where he continued to serve as a Buyers Specialist for five more years. Rustam has considerable expertise in supporting the buyer experience at both NATPE Budapest and NATPE Global.

“With more than 150 buyers already signed up for NATPE Budapest, including many CEE media leaders, we are scaling our team to over-deliver on our promise to clients to grow the value they get from attending the region’s most important content market,”  commented Russell Goldstein, President & CEO at Brunico Communications.
