The Covid-19 crisis has had positive and negative effects on all the players in the industry. For American Cinema International (ACI), it hasn’t been bad in any way. “As an independent company and in a niche market that we are, where we mainly do hallmark movies or inspirational tech movies, we’ve done really well,” said Chevonne O'Shaughnessy, President of the company to Señal News. “Hallmark came back to us within the first two or three weeks of the pandemic and bought from us two movies that they have passed on a year and a half ago and that I already had in my book almost zero because they didn’t want them. However, they paid me the full price, so that was really, really exciting,” she completed.

O'Shaughnessy has also talked about the favorite content that audiences are choosing during the lockdown. “There are gonna be again still romance, love, for people that can sit down and watch the whole movie together, the whole family”.

The president of ACI said that the best strategy nowadays is to talk to clients and to know about their needs. “I’m getting up really early in the morning, at 4 o’clock in the morning, and I’ve been just talking to my buyers and I’ve been having some great conversations with them and in fact, we are talking in the long depth of what they need right now,” said O'Shaughnessy.

In the executive's opinion, the main demand of the clients currently is simply finding products and at a good price, “a price that they can use because right now the advertising is going down and they need to make almost the double,”  she explained.
