Mediaset Distribution, the distribution arm of Mediaset Italy, participated in Series Mania for the first time, aiming to sell ready-made content as well as scripted and unscripted formats. “It’s a trend we’ve observed in the market,” said Claudia Marra, Sales Manager at Mediaset Distribution, to Señal News. “Attending Series Mania was a very positive experience,” she noted.
Mediaset Distribution is currently focusing on recent productions coming from Mediaset’s drama department, which creates content for the company’s channels in Italy. The company also holds an extensive library of films and series from previous years. At Series Mania, the company promoted its newest title, "Alex Bravo", a procedural series centered around a charismatic and handsome policeman who happens to be a notorious playboy. However, a major twist in his life will soon change everything. “The feedback has been great because people are looking for procedurals — which is something we haven’t traditionally produced much of in Italy — but we are now focusing more on this genre due to strong market demand. I’m really happy to have a new procedural in our catalog,” she concluded.
WHAT’S ALEX BRAVO ABOUT?
Alex Bravo (Marco Bocci) is a cop with unbeatable instincts but a chaotic personal life: his fridge is always empty, his landlord is constantly chasing him for rent, and he spends his evenings with beautiful women who can’t resist his laid-back charm and questionable taste in shirts. His boss, Deputy Commissioner Clint (Diego Ribon), never misses a chance to tease him and criticize his seemingly superficial attitude. Meanwhile, his colleague Sofia (Federica De Benedittis) is secretly in love with him, but has never found the courage to confess her feelings.
