Worldwide spending on telecommunication and pay TV services will reach USD 1.55 trillion in 2020, a 1.4% decrease year over year. However, revenue declines are expects towards the end of the year.

The number of gross subscription to video on demand services grew by 28% in 2019, according to Digital TV Research’s latest report, which also highlights that the net subscriber count rose by 55 million (16%) last year to total 403 million.
The services have gained 1.7 million subscribers in the last six months, despite HBO Max’s launch taking place on 27th May. The figure is 5% higher than that of the ending of 2019. Warner Media hopes to reach 50 million-55 million HBO Max customers in the country by 2025.
55% of all viewers who view programming on streaming services and linear television say streaming services showcase more diverse stories than broadcast and cable, and 62% say that representation of diversity within the mainstream media has been improving.
