VIS, a division of ViacomCBS, announced the start of production of its dramedy “Cecilia,” part of the portfolio of original content developed for the streaming platform Paramount+.
Brian Roberts, Chief Executive Officer of Comcast, is exploring new options for the company’s push into streaming, raising the idea of a possible tie-up with ViacomCBS or the acquisition of Roku, according to a report from The Wall Street Journal.
Seven of the conglomerate's top executives will take on various duties specifically targeting the growth of the streamer's presence in a crowded streaming market. David Nevins will now lead the company’s streaming scripted original division.
The new division will focus on the international distribution and licensing for Cartel’s content, and it will be led by veteran CBS and Viacom executives Giovanni Pedde and Stephen Tague.
ViacomCBS International Studios held its digital Screenings, where the company showcased a first glimpse of its new projects, of which 60 are in production and 160 in development.
