Starz’s streaming service is partnering with French broadcaster TF1 on the upcoming anthology series “A French Case,” the first instalment of which will focus on the tragic murder of four-year-old Grégory Villemin in 1984.
The new entity is forecast to become the sixth largest content spender in Europe’s big five markets in 2023, and will generate 15% of the total big five TV advertising market, according to Ampere Analysis.
The company has unveiled a set of deals for the series, including an acquisition made by Canela.TV, Ruutu, and Nelonen, as well as renewed partnerships with Sky Kids and TF1 France.
The recently launched production company will develop, finance, and produce the global feature film. Formatting licensing deals have been secured with Nolita Cinema, Nolita TV, Ango Productions, and TF1 Studio.
The winning program is a dating show format for millennials that will be developed with help of Quebecor Content and TF1and Media Ranch will manage production and global distribution.
