The GDI 2024 Film Study revealed both strides and ongoing gaps in gender, race, LGBTQIA+, disability, and body-type inclusion.

Developed by a team of diverse backgrounds, the show aims to close the gender gap in STEM by inspiring young girls to engage with science and technology. With three episodes already in development, "Zoe & Olly" is being showcased internationally.

Women and girls made up just 30% of the leading film roles in the top-major motion pictures of 2023, representing a 14 percentage point drop from the year before. The report also found that only 11% of 2023’s top 100 movies were gender-balanced, meaning women/girls in about half of all speaking roles, also a number even with 2007.

A study, presented in Los Angeles, revealed that, although men outnumber women across all roles, years, and countries, the difference between men and women has declined slowly over time, with men making up 60.1% of the dataset in 2021 and 54.9% in 2023.
