French media group has revealed a plan to acquire a raft of content firms across Europe by striking a deal to buy Lagardere Studios and taking a minority stake in fast-growing German firm Leonine.
Both companies want to immortalize their respective capitals, Paris and Madrid under lockdown, with the objective of making these images available to different institutions freely.
The acquisition followed the recent sale of 10% of the company's 100% share capital of Universal Music Group (UMG) for an enterprise value of €30 billion. It was brought up by Lagardère’ and former French president Nicolas Sarkozy served as an intermediary, and A price for the deal has not been revealed.
