Episode 3 of "Tales from Outer Suburbia" will screen at the Annecy Animated Film Festival, being the first time any of the series will be seen publicly. The series is being produced by a team of Australian producers, including the Oscar-winning duo Shaun Tan and producer Sophie Byrne, and will air on the ABC in Australia and BYU in the USA.

To be shot in English, the six-hours fantasy period drama will be produced by Picomedia, Intaglio Films in co-production with Beta Film. World sales will be handled by Beta Film and ZDF Studios.

This is the first time a Brazilian production is awarded with an Oscar statuette. The film previously won the Goya for best Ibero-American film and was nominated for a Golden Globe and a British BAFTA award.

The idea for the series came from Kata Besenyei, the director was Ildikó Enyedi (director of the Oscar-nominated and Golden Bear-winning film On Body and Soul), and the cinematographer was Júlia Vaszari.
