The Walt Disney Company confirmed that Disney+ has surpassed the threshold of 118 million subscribers globally, against expectations of 126.2 million. The service has added only 2.1 million subscriptions in the period.
The streaming service rebounded in the second calendar quarter of 2021, adding 12.4 million net new subscribers during the period and now totaling 116 million worldwide.
Streaming pay-TV provider FuboTV reported its second quarter results, showing a gain of 91.000 subscribers compared with the year-ago quarter, far better than Wall Street analysts’ 12.000 subscribers’ expectations.
