Netflix started to charge a US$7.99 fee to US-based users who share their accounts with people who don't live with them as the platform begins cracking down on password sharing.
Netflix is looking to cut costs, in part, because its plans to crack down on password sharing broadly in the United States and elsewhere were pushed back from the first quarter to the second quarter.
After exploring different approaches to address the issue of password sharing in Latin America, Netflix announced that it now introducing limits also in Canada, New Zealand, Portugal and Spain.
