The Canadian broadcaster will launch new original series, special programming, and Canadian film debuts, showcasing stories, perspectives, and voices from across the LGBTQ2+ and Indigenous communities.
55% of all viewers who view programming on streaming services and linear television say streaming services showcase more diverse stories than broadcast and cable, and 62% say that representation of diversity within the mainstream media has been improving.
The channel has chosen “Zoom In”, an exciting dive into the production of the hottest movies and “Director’s Short Cut” that shows the greatest film directors sharing their most fascinating stories and exclusive anecdotes.
Sheridan Smith, Robert Glenister, Tom Glenister, Darren Boyd, Angela Griffin, David Threlfall, Eddie Marsan and his sons Blue and Bodie will be part of a series of four short dramas depicting life in lockdown.
The four-part series reflects what real-life situation families are experiencing during lock down and self-isolation periods. The scenes were filmed by actors and their families themselves, and all of it is watched remotely by the directors. The show was commissioned by ITV's head of drama, Polly Hill and is set to air in a few weeks.
