The Nordic region’s streaming company announced that the next Viaplay Original will be the Swedish drama series “Two Sisters,” an eight-part show based on the bestselling novels by Hannah Widell and Amanda Schulman.
The Nordic crime drama has been sold by ZDF Enterprises to the BBC, with the series airing simultaneously on BBC Four and BBC iPlayer, the second time this title has been licensed to the UK public broadcaster.
Though it still doesn't have an exact launch date, the series is set to be released worldwide. SAM Productions served as the producer and
Mikkel Serup as director.
The Nordic region’s streaming company Nordic Entertainment Group (NENT Group) has once again upgraded its Viaplay paying subscriber target for the current year to 3 million.
The direct-to-consumer service launched in Portugal, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Iceland, Belgium, and Luxembourg. It has now accumulated a total of 60 million subscribers and more than 100 million global SVOD customers.
