The company closed the first quarter with 11.3 million pay-TV subscribers, down 6% from last year's figure, including a sequential decline of 132,000 satellite subscribers to 9 million, and recorded a net loss of 281,000 Sling TV subscribers.
The television service is available through April 5th, and doesn't require a credit card or subscription to register. As a result of the virus outbreak, viewership of Sling TV’s top news channels has risen by over 121% in the last month.
The offer will include live ABC news and events, as well as thousands of family movies and show, including kids’ and lifestyle content. Viewers are not required to register an account or enter a credit card to use the service. Using this offer, Sling TV hopes to market its paid services to free users.
