New licensing deals in Romania, Spain, Bosnia, and Hungary mark the latest phase of "The Nightfall’s" European rollout, as ATV Distribution expands its global footprint with one of its most sought-after Turkish dramas.
The distributor announced a pre-sale deal with WDR/Arte, for "China’s Wild Secrets", has licensed a package of world affairs titles to Arte; as well as three seasons of "Digging for Britain" to Hearst Network, among other deals.
With an upfront payment of €150 million and up to €377 million in performance-based earnouts, the deal adds 11.5 million subscribers and targets €250 million in annual synergies within three years.
The agreement covers the technical distribution of all SPI channels in Europe, as well as the distribution of 14 linear TV channels and the SVOD service from SPI.
As part of the partnership, ProTV will air 1,250 hours per year of TelevisaUnivision's globally acclaimed telenovelas on Acasă, ProTV's drama channel operated by Central European Media Enterprises.
