The scripted comedy series is inspired by the comedian's memoir as a high schooler in Cold Lake, Alberta. McFarlane serves as the creator and writer for the half-hour long episode series.

Cineflix Productions has announced that Jeff Vanderwal has been promoted to Vice President of Scripted. In this role, he will source, develop and oversee the production of scripted series and movies for the division.

The new venture, More to the Story Media, will develop and produce premium investigative true-crime titles and give Cineflix exclusive rights to distribute its content around the world. Creatives contributing to the new company will have access to services and development support provided by the distributor.

Cineflix Productions has attached award-winning filmmaker and writer Dream Hampton as executive producer and director of its new limited documentary series, “Black Wall Street” (working title).
