"Connected: The Homebound Detective," the successful Japanese crime format produced by global content firm Envision Entertainment and Japanese broadcaster Nippon TV, has been optioned for adaption in the U.S. market by Tomorrow Studios, an ITV Studios partnership.

The scripted crime drama was developed with cooperation between the two companies to produce an innovative, high-quality TV series with global appeal and international franchise potential.

David Barron will focus on supercharging Envision’s slate of high-end premium content, and Linda Jensen will launch an investment arm of the business which will acquire both IP and stakes in synergistic media companies.

The project will combine creators from both hemispheres to contribute to new scripted projects based on Japanese properties, targeted at an international audience.
