For the first time since 2021, the initial half of 2023 saw an uptick in the global Daily Average Playtime per user and service, NPAW revealed in its latest “Video Streaming Industry” report.
The total number of VOD plays continued growing globally in 2022, yet the time that users spend daily on each service took another hit as the streaming market became increasingly saturated, according to NPAW’s latest report.
Viewer engagement for each streaming service — measured in Average Daily Playtime per user, in hours — was down for all devices and almost all regions in 2021 compared with 2020, according to data from NPAW.
