"Rex – Vienna Calling" is produced by MR Film in co-production with Seven.One and ORF, funded by Fisa+, Fernsehfonds Austria, Vienna Film Fund, and Lower Austria. Beta Film handles international sales.

Beta Film and Mediawan Rights have partnered to handle the international distribution of the drama series. The six-hour drama will celebrate its world premiere as one of the very few handpicked television series at this year’s Venice International Film Festival in the Out of Competition section.

From the showrunner of the international hit "Sisi", this contemporary period series for ARD and ORF is driven by a unique musical score that fuses Mozart’s iconic compositions with a contemporary edge. Bavaria Media and Beta Film are handling international sales. 

The show is being produced in Belgium before moving to York later this spring. Beta Film will distribute it worldwide, and PBS Distribution holds the North American rights to the series.

Beta Film and industry veteran Danny Goldman have joined forces to introduce Omega Global Media, a distribution business focusing on a selection of high-end English-language TV series.
