Lee, who in almost six years with the business has guided BBC Studios Productions to unrivalled creative recognition, will leave in April to pursue a new challenge outside the organisation.
BBC Studios will merge its Entertainment & Music, Factual Entertainment & Events, and International Productions & Formats, and is fully integrating its worldwide network of production bases to create a new Global Entertainment business.
In completing the deal, BBC Studios bought out the minority stake in Voltage that C4 Growth Fund had since 2015. BBC’s commercial arm has a long-standing relationship with Voltage TV, founded in 2013 by Sanjay Singhal and Steve Nam.
Kate Ward has been named Managing Director of Factual at BBC Studios Productions, taking responsibility for the overall strategy, creative health, pipeline, and production capability across the genre.
